The Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) said in a statement yesterday that due to the fact that a growing number of people are visiting the city’s two beaches – Cheoc Van and Hac Sa – it is urging residents to comply with the Health Bureau’s (SSM) COVID-19 prevention and control guidelines when they are there.

The bureau also urged beachgoers to wear their facemasks properly, adding that they should maintain social distancing, avoid gathering and keep the beaches clean. The bureau also warned against discarding used facemasks and rubbish on the beaches.

Meanwhile, as the local observatory yesterday forecast that a tropical cyclone passing through the South China Sea may affect Macau over the weekend, the Marine and Water Bureau reminded residents to check its app before heading for any of the city’s beaches.
