Sport Bureau (ID) Vice President Allen Lau Cho Un announced yesterday during a press conference at the ID headquarters that an obstacle race will be held on December 12.

According to Lau, participants must have been fully-vaccinated at least 14 days prior to the competition and must have a negative nucleic acid test (NAT) result taken within seven days before the race.

Lau said that the contest will take place at the outdoor area near the Macau East Asian Games Dome in Cotai. He added that the participants will need to overcome different obstacles to prove their cardiorespiratory endurance and physical strength.

Lau noted that last year was the first year that the bureau hosted the obstacle competition and it was well-received by local residents. He pointed out that this year the bureau has increased the number of participants from 800 to 1,200. He also said that if the feedback from the participants is as enthusiastic as last year, the bureau might consider to make the competition a regular annual event.
