The government should give more financial support to medical service centres run by social service associations, Cheong Cheng, a vice-president of the People’s Alliance for the Development of Macau (APIM), said yesterday

Cheong, the doctor in charge of the two medical centres operated by the alliance, made the appeal on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the “Chinese-Western Medical Week” at the group’s headquarters in Areia Preta.

The alliance is holding the seven-day event with the aim of encouraging local teenagers to look after their health.
