A local man in his thirties was arrested last week for throwing sesame paste at a person, damaging the victim’s clothes, according to a Public Security Police (PSP) statement last Friday.

The statement did not identify the victim’s gender.

According to the statement, the Public Security Police received a report from a resident recently that a man holding a bowl of black liquid suddenly hurled the substance at him or her in Rua Central de Areia Preta, causing damage to the victim’s clothes, incurring a loss of about 1,500 patacas.

The statement said that Public Security Police identified the suspect and told him to report to a police station last Wednesday. Under questioning, the man admitted to committing the crime. He told the police that he had quarrelled with the victim, and he grew angry. He got a bowl of black sesame paste, returned to the scene and tossed the paste at the victim to take revenge.

The suspect has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a charge of causing property damage (Article No. 206 of the Macau Penal Code), according to the statement.
