An event called Macau Italian Wine & Dine will take place at Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) on November 27, according to a joint statement by the three co-organisers.
The statement noted that the event is co-organised by GLP, the Wine Society of Macau, and DOC DMC Macau event agency. The event aims to promote “the Italian culinary culture within the local community” and is part of the World Week of Italian Cuisine.
The threesome held a presentation and tasting for the media at GLP in Cotai yesterday evening.
The upcoming event is supported by various entities including the Italian Consulate-General accredited in Hong Kong and Macau and local Portuguese bank BNU.
The statement noted that the event will feature two masterclasses, a wine pairing event from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and an after-party, adding that the events are designed to provide a dining experience that allows participants to observe authentic Italian cooking methods and witness Italian culinary customs.
Along with popular Italian dishes, the event will include 18 high-quality wines from well-known wine producers such as Gaja, Frescobaldi, Banfi, De Stefani and Pio Cesare, the statement underlined.
Meanwhile, the statement noted that the “Italian Cooking Demonstration – White Truffle Risotto” will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., allowing participants to watch and learn how to prepare “two of the most popular Italian dishes”. The “Italian Wine Masterclass – Banfi, the Builders of Brunello” by Paolo Fassina, the Area Manager for Banfi in North-East Asia, will also be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., allowing participants to taste four Banfi wines.
The statement said that tickets for the event are priced at 600 patacas per person and will include wine tokens, unlimited food and entrance to the after-party, while tickets for each masterclass are priced at 250 patacas per person or 100 patacas per person if purchased with main event tickets.
The number of tokens, which are used to redeem wines and drinks by the glass, per ticket varies from eight to 12 and are worth 20 patacas each, the statement added.
The statement said that bookings and further information can be found at www.winedine-macau.com.
