The Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said in a statement yesterday that the 2021 Portuguese-speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (2021PLPEX), along with the “Global Ingredients, Taste of Shanghai” catering event, which released its first “Global Wine·Shanghai Wine List – Recommended Wine List of Portuguese-speaking Countries in 2021”, aimed to promote products from Portuguese-speaking countries in the Chinese mainland.
The statement did not say where and when the exhibition was held.
The statement noted that the exhibition also aims to nurture economic, trade and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), highlight Macau as a platform for China and PSCs, and cooperate with Shanghai, the partner city of the upcoming 26th Macau International Trade and Investment Fair (26th MIF).
The statement said that over 10 professional judges from Shanghai were invited to taste the wines included on the “Recommended Wine List of Portuguese-speaking Countries in 2021”, adding that 20 wine brands from PSCs that were presented by local agents were awarded “Excellent Brand of the Year”, “Quality Brand of the Year”, and “Featured Brand of the Year”.
The statement underlined that some of the award winners representing Macau agents said that their products gained recognition from consumers in some parts of the mainland, while other representatives said that the titles of “Quality Brand of the Year” and “Featured Brand of the Year” would help promote them in the mainland, particularly in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The statement pointed out that an awards ceremony of the recommended wine list, the Portuguese-speaking countries’ wine tasting and promotional activities will be held at the 2021PLPEX exhibition venue, allowing networking activities for different companies.
The statement said that the 2021PLPEX, the “26th MIF” and the “Macau Franchise Expo 2021” will be held concurrently at The Venetian Macao Resort on December 10-12.
