Pun told reporters on the sidelines of the tournament’s prize-giving ceremony that this was the first time a 3X3 tournament has ever been held in Macau – and at local World Heritage sites to boot. Pun pointed out that the tournament marked Macau’s success and capability of hosting such a “big” event of “high standards”. He also underlined that during the COVID-19 pandemic, his bureau and hosts were able to co-organise the tournament which demonstrated Macau’s vitality and safeness.
When asked by a reporter about hosting other events in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) in the future, Pun responded that Macau will be one of the competition venues for the 15th National Games in 2025. Pun said he hoped that Macau will host sports events more regularly and organise the 15th National Games smoothly.
The 15th National Games in 2025 will be co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.
