The Sports Bureau (ID) announced in a statement yesterday that the Mong-Ha Sports Centre will gradually open to the public, starting today.

According to the statement, the first set of facilities to open are “the badminton courts and table tennis rooms on the 2nd floor, the basketball courts on the 4th floor and [the] rooftop leisure area with a jogging trail”.

The statement noted that online bookings for the facilities can be made seven days in advance via the bureau’s website and the mobile app, while “on-the-spot booking” is also available at the centre’s service counter from today.

The statement emphasised that in accordance with the COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures, there will be limited quotas at the sports centre while using online reservations for the facilities is recommended. The rooftop leisure area will allow a maximum of 50 people per two-hour session, while a QR code entry ticket will be provided upon registration at the reception desk, the statement said.

The statement underlined that the centre contains various sports facilities on each floor and requires a valid ticket receipt for entry. Users who have reserved a venue will be provided with an electronic or paper ticket receipt with “Entry and Exit of Facilities” and “Obtain Facilities” QR codes, the statement added. Upon initial presentation of the “Entry and Exit of Facilities” code for the first time, users can access the floor where the rented facility is located 30 minutes before their appointment. Users can register with the “Obtain Facilities” code and a valid ID 15 minutes before their appointment.

The statement pointed out that users are required to wear a facemask, undergo a temperature check and present a valid “Macau Health Code” at the entrance. The statement added that the bureau will continuously gather opinions from the public during the centre’s first phase for review and determine areas for improvement, while further details can be found at www.sport.gov.mo or by calling 2823 6363.
