The Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) announced in a statement last night that it has successfully concluded its three-day exhibition for the 26th Macau International Trade and Investment Fair (26th MIF), the Macau Franchise Expo 2021 (2021MFE) and the 2021 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macau) (2021PLPEX).
The statement underlined that the simultaenous exhibitions continued to use the “online + offline” exhibition model and that more than 80 projects were signed that covered areas such as “artificial intelligence (AI) technology” and “Macau food agents”. The statement added that about 700 business matching sessions, which included more than 400 online sessions, were arranged to help exhibiting enterprises and traders discover business opportunities.
The statement noted that the event attracted 1,280 online and offline exhibitors, with exhibitors coming from various places such as Macau, mainland China, and Portugal and covered industries including big health, intellectual property (IP) and products from Portuguese-speaking countries.
The statement noted that there were more than 920 on-site exhibitors, and about 1,100 exhibitors in the online exhibitions, while over a hundred buyers from various places were invited to participate in the exhibitions online and/or offline and over 400 business matching sessions were conducted through the 14-day online matching sessions.
The statement also said that the exhibition incorporated various online promotional elements such as live streaming, which covered more than 220 exhibitors and attracted 3.6 million views, and on-site visits by influencers.
The statement added that the exhibition areas for scientific and technological innovation and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) were 10 and 12 times larger than last year and attracted more than 140 and 100 enterprises respectively.
The statement said that the “Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin” booth was set up in the Macau Pavilion to deepen exhibitors and traders’ understanding of the zone.
Moreover, over 60 forums, meetings, promotion seminars, and exchange activities were held during the three exhibitions, attracting “experts, scholars, industry representatives, and traders from all sectors”, the statement added.
