The “Style. Encounter Moment” Fashion Parade of the Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making was held on Sunday during the Macau Fashion Festival at the Venetian in Cotai to showcase the works of local designers, according to a statement by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).
The statement noted that the event was jointly organised by the bureau and the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM). It was attended by several guests, including Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes and Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) Vice President Cheong Lai San, as well as members of the adjudicating panel of the subsidy programme, the statement added.
The statement pointed out that works of fashion designers who were selected from the “8th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making” were showcased at the parade, adding that local models presented 64 sets of clothes and featured “men’s elegant clothing, women’s casual and formal attire”. Participating designers included Celestino Maria Cordova, Ding Zhen, Wong Man I, Wong Ha, Leong Man Teng, Choi Nga Teng, Chan Nga Leong, and Lai Ka Pou.
The statement underlined that the Cultural Affairs Bureau and CPTTM have jointly organised the fashion parade annually since 2014 to display the latest achievements by selected designers from the bureau’s subsidy programme while providing a promotional platform for local fashion designers’ fashion brands and works.
