The Chinese mainland and the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) will further step up exchanges and cooperation on ecological and environmental protection, according to an arrangement signed in Macau yesterday by the local government and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

The mainland will support the MSAR in getting linked up with national environmental protection policies to promote building an ecological civilization, the arrangement states.

The arrangement covers areas of tackling climate change, building a green Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), planning environmental protection, preventing and controlling environmental pollution, honoring international treaties on the environment, and disposing of solid waste. – Xinhua, MPD
