Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng will pay a four-day duty visit to Beijing from tomorrow, the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) said in a statement today.

According to the statement, Ho will brief the nation's leaders on the local government's work in 2021 and his policy guidelines for the next year. His visit will end on Friday.

The statement also said that Ho will visit a number of ministries and commissions during his stay in the capital. He will be accompanied by the chief of his office, Ho Lai Fong.

The statement did not say which leaders and entities Ho will meet or visit during his duty visit.

His Hong Kong counterpart, Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, will leave tonight for her duty visit to Beijing, which is slated to end on Thursday, the Hong Kong government announced today.

Secretary for Administration and Justice Andre Cheong Weng Chon will be acting chief executive during Ho's duty visit.

Annual duty visits to Beijing by the chief executives of the Hong Kong and Macau special administrative regions in late December are a matter of routine.
