CGV Cinemas will be unveiled with today’s grand opening in NOVA Mall in Taipa.
According to a Nova Mall statement yesterday, the international theatre chain is located on the 2nd floor, with the “cultureplex” aiming to provide an unrivalled cinematic experience.
Containing 736 seats in five houses, the statement pointed out that the cinema includes “the first-in-Macau 4DX and Sphere X theatres”. The cinema’s décor resembles New York Broadway Theatres from the 1950s to the 1960s, emphasising the audience’s experience in a theatre setting, while blending nostalgic and contemporary elements through special lighting effects, the statement noted.
The cineplex also invites visitors to take pictures in its classical lobby, its VIP Lounge, 270-degree LED Sky Corridor or with the Paconnie characters.
Paconnie characters are six popcorn inspired figures, named POPO 、 NINI 、 BOBO 、 KAKA 、 COCO 、 DUDU.
Visitors can enjoy on-screen spectacles at the 4DX theatre with synchronised motion chairs and 11 environmental effects such as rain, scents, air effects, lightning, rainstorm and fog for “an unprecedented multi-sensory journey”.
The statement added that visitors can immerse themselves at the Sphere X theatre, which has a curved screen design and a surround sound system.
Visitors can also complete their viewing at the Popcorn Factory, which offers a variety of snacks and alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, the statement noted.
