The Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) said in a statement yesterday that a new headquarters with three floors for police dogs and four floors for administrative staff will be built in Coloane.

Due to the increase in the numbers of police dogs and administrative staff, the Public Security Police’s (PSP) current facilities for their canine unit are no longer adequate, according to the statement.

The building will be built on a piece of repossessed land that was previously illegally occupied next to the junction of Estrada de Hac Sa and Rua Luis De Camões. The plot of land is about 3,500 square metres and the construction area is about 12,200 square metres.
