According to a statement by the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) yesterday, the bureau along with civic associations and social service organisations have set up over 100 temporary service points to assist residents in opening an account for the “Common Access to Public Services of the Macau SAR” app, and to register for the annual proof of life online.

The statement said that the temporary service points’ details can be found at https://www.ias.gov.mo/wp-content/uploads/file/social_service_facility_list.pdf. The pdf includes each service point’s time, location, and contact numbers, in Chinese and Portuguese.

The statement said that residents who have difficulty in opening an account, resetting their password, or carry out their proof of life registration, can visit the SAFP or Municipal Affairs Bureau’s (IAM) designated service points for assistance. They are the Public Administration Building in Rua do Campo, Services Centre in Rua Nova da Areia Preta, and Islands Services Centre in Rua de Coimbra in Taipa.

The statement underlined that SAFP is hosting tutorial sessions about using the “Common Access to Public Services” app at the Services Centre in Rua Nova da Areia Preta and Islands Services Centre in Rua de Coimbra in Taipa, between today and Thursday. The statement pointed out that there are six sessions per day and the starting time for the sessions is 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. respectively.

The statement reminded residents living outside Macau that they can use non-local phone numbers to open their “Common Access to Public Services” accounts. Moreover, a beneficiary’s spouse or other family members can use their own account to complete the beneficiary’s proof of life registration. After completing the proof of life registration procedure, the beneficiary will receive a confirmation SMS and then take a screenshot of the completed registration. The statement said that both the SMS confirmation and screenshot can be used to enquire about the registration’s condition.

The statement said that residents who have queries about using the “Common Access to Public Services” app can contact 8866 8866.

Proof of life is required every January under the government’s Social Security System Law for senior residents to receive funds or pensions, according to a statement on the Provident Fund’s website.

The “Common Access to Public Services” is also known as “single account portal” in Chinese (一戶通). It provides over 70 public services, according to an earlier statement by the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau.
