The University of Macau (UM) announced in a statement yesterday that its upcoming Open Day will be held online.
According to a statement from the public university, the decision to hold the Sunday event online only is due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The statement noted that visitors from both Macau and overseas can join the event’s activities online “anytime, anywhere”, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., enabling them to learn about UM’s admission requirements, academic characteristics, and research achievements, without going to the campus.
Initially, the Open Day was planned to be held as a physical event.
The statement added that the event’s activities will include an online opening ceremony, admission and academic talks, admission consultation, exhibitions, games, and a lucky draw.
Students who would like to pursue their tertiary education at the university can learn about the programmes or departments that they are interested in, which the statement said could help them prepare for the UM admission exam as well as Macau’s joint admission exam (JAE).
Further information about the event can be found at https://openday.um.edu.mo/ or by following UM’s official accounts on WeChat or Facebook ‘University of Macau’. Enquiries can also be made by contacting the university’s Communications Office on 8822 8400 or co@um.edu.mo.
