An off-duty public bus driver was caught on Sunday for driving under the influence (DUI) early that day, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Wai Chon said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old local suspect is surnamed Lei.
According to Wong, the Public Security Police intercepted Lei who was riding a motorcycle during their routine check near Mercado do Patane around 3 a.m. on Sunday. PSP officers smelt that Lei was reeking of alcohol and gave him a breathalyser test. The result of the test showed that Lei’s alcohol concentration was 1.46 grammes of alcohol per litre of blood. Lei admitted to drinking a few hours before.
The case is awaiting trial, according to Wong.
