The Sports Bureau (ID) announced in a statement yesterday that its five-storey Mong-Ha Sports Centre will be opening more sports facilities tomorrow.

According to the statement, the new facilities include a futsal court and squash court on the 3rd floor, as well as a volleyball court on the 5th floor.  The sports facilities will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A game based on football, futsal is a mini-football variant mostly played indoors on a hard court smaller than a football pitch, according to Wikipedia.

Moreover, starting at 8:30 a.m. today, Sports Easy members can reserve the new venues seven days in advance through the bureau’s website or mobile app. On-the-spot booking for instant use will also be available at the Mong-Ha service counter from tomorrow, the statement said.

Online booking is the centre’s main ticketing method, adding that as visitors will be limited in line with the COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures, it is suggested that residents make online reservations.

Upon successful reservation, users will be provided with an electronic or paper ticket receipt with QR Codes for “Entry and Exit of Facilities Code” and “Obtain Facilities Code”.

The statement underlined that users and their companions can scan the “Entry and Exit of Facilities Code” and head to the floor where the rented facility is located 30 minutes before the appointment.  The user must then present the “Obtain Facilities Code” and a valid ID for registration 15 minutes before their appointment. Users can also re-enter the venue by scanning the “Entry and Exit of Facilities Code”.

In accordance with the COVID-19 prevention measures, users must wear a facemask, undergo temperature checks, present a valid “Macau Health Code” and scan a “Visit Record (Venue QR Code)” at the entrance. The bureau added that cleaning and disinfection at all venues is strictly enforced, also reminding users to maintain good hygiene and practise social distancing when using facilities, the statement noted.
