The Philippine Consulate General announced on its official website and Facebook page yesterday that the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has released the “Certified List of Overseas Voters (CLOV)” in Macau for the upcoming Philippine National Elections.
According to Wikipedia, COMELEC’s main role is “to enforce all laws and regulations relative to the conduct of elections in the Philippines”, adding that it is one of the three “constitutional commissions of the Philippines”.
The statement pointed out that the names included on the list are eligible to cast their votes during the “30-day conduct of Overseas Voting” for the elections, which are slated to take place from April 10 to May 9, the latter being polling day.
The Macau voters list comprises about 500 pages.
The lists for “landbased” voters can be found at https://macaupcg.dfa.gov.ph/images/2022/MACAU_PCG_LANDBASED.pdf
while the list for “seafarers” is at https://macaupcg.dfa.gov.ph/images/2022/SEAFARERS_CLOV.pdf
Both lists can also be accessed by the consulate’s official website https://macaupcg.dfa.gov.ph/, as well as their official Facebook page at “Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR”.
Macau’s Philippine community includes 27,695 non-resident workers as of the end of December 2021, according to statistical data from the Labour Affairs Bureau.
