Man nabbed for hacking neighbour to death

A 51-year-old man yesterday allegedly hacked a 59-year-old male neighbour to death with a chopper, after a heated argument with him and his 23-year-old son, who was also attacked by the suspect and sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to separate statements from the Judiciary Police (PJ) and the Public Security Police (PSP). 

The injured 23-year-old, surnamed Aoieong, is a policemen, the Public Security Police said in a statement, adding that his father died soon after receiving emergency treatment at Kiang Wu Hospital. The policeman’s condition was stable after treatment, the statement said. 

The Public Security Police said that they received a call around 1:30 p.m. yesterday that two men had been attacked in a flat at Vai Choi Garden estate in Fai Chi Kei. The estate is a government-subsidised home-ownership scheme (HOS) development.
