The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announced yesterday that this Chinese New Year’s (CNY) firework display will be held tonight in celebration of the Lantern Festival.

The show is a part of a series of activities arranged for the CNY.

Today is the last day of the CNY.

The show will start at 9 p.m. in the bay in front of Macau Tower, promising to display a variety of patterns and designs such as hearts and wreaths of flowers, the statement noted.

Meanwhile, the statement reminded the public that the 14 floats from the two recently completed “Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Tiger” are still displayed in Praça do Tap Seac. The floats can be visited for free until Sunday, with the floats fully illuminated from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The public can also join an online game until Sunday to earn coupons and virtual gold ingots in exchange for prizes offered by various establishments. The statement said that prizes received will be sent via text message in an electronic consumer coupon format. To join, the public can scan a QR code or access the website at https://tiger-games.ad-on.mo.

The statement stressed that all the measures taken by MGTO are in line with the Health Bureau’s (SSM) COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures.

The statement emphasised that MGTO will continue to reinforce future parades’ components and increase their attractiveness, as well as further integrate the “tourism +” initiative and draw more residents and visitors to “travel and consume” in Macau’s various neighbourhoods.
