The Philippine Consulate General announced in a statement that it has conducted the 27th repatriation flight yesterday, assisting in flying 203 more Filipinos from Macau back to the Philippines.
The total number of repatriates now stands at 5,355, with flights having been organised since March 2020. The statement added that three wheelchair-bound passengers who were recently hospitalised in the city were among those being repatriated, with the three of them also being assisted by the consulate during their hospitalisation.
The statement noted that Philippine Consul-General Porfirio M. Mayo, Jr said that the repatriation programme will continue for Filipinos in Macau until the resumption of commercial flights to the Philippines.
Moreover, the statement underlined that adopting the “Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases or IATF of its Resolution No. 160-A” on February 3, fully vaccinated Filipinos coming from overseas are “no longer required to observe mandatory facility-based quarantine, subject to compliance with conditions set in the same IATF resolution”.
The statement pointed out that a person is considered fully vaccinated if they have received the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the date of departure from the port of origin.
