A man crossing Friendship Bridge on an e-scooter yesterday was intercepted by police, and received a warning from the Public Security Police (PSP), a PSP statement said yesterday.
According to the statement, at 12:41 p.m. a 30-year-old non-resident worker was seen cruising on an e-scooter from Macau to Taipa. The statement pointed out that the man violated the Road Traffic Law Article 12 which states that “the use of scooters, with or without a motor, is prohibited on public roads, except in places where their usage is authorised by the authorities”. He faces a fine of up to 600 patacas. The statement also said that he breached the Friendship Bridge’s regulation on “the prohibition of pedestrians and non-vehicles on the bridge”.
The police urged drivers and pedestrians to abide by the city’s traffic regulations and pay attention to the traffic signs and warnings to avoid accidents. The statement underlined that entering the bridge without permission is punishable by a fine.
