A 70-year-old local man was arrested on Wednesday for sexually harassing a female passenger by touching her private parts on a bus during the rush hour, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Cheuk Kou Chi said at a press conference on Friday.
The suspect, surnamed Fong, said that he’s unemployed. The 30-year-old female victim is a domestic helper from the mainland.
According to Cheuk, the victim got onto a bus in Rua do Visconde Paço de Arcos (巴素打爾古街) at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shortly after getting onto the bus, she felt someone touching her private parts. Fong, who was standing next to her at that time, claimed that he accidentally touched her. At first, the victim ignored Fong’s action. However, after several times of being sexually harassed by Fong, the victim reported the incident to the bus driver, Cheuk said.
Cheuk said that the bus driver then reported the incident to the police. Fong was arrested when the Public Security Police (PSP) police arrived at the scene. Under questioning, Fong admitted to committing the crime.
Fong has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a sexual harassment charge, Cheuk said.
