The Fire Services Bureau (CB) said in a statement yesterday that a tree collapsed on Rua Correia da Silva in Taipa and damaged two nearby buildings.
According to the statement, the large tree located near the Historical Museum of Coloane and Taipa, collapsed on a shop yesterday afternoon. No one was injured in the incident. The statement pointed out that a resident reported seeing sparks coming from an electrical control panel. However, the statement added, no fire was spotted when the firefighters arrived at the scene. The statement said that one of the buildings’ rooftops and wires were damaged by the tree, while the other building’s wall and glass door were broken.
The statement underlined that the case has been transferred to the Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT), Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) and power utility CEM to follow up on the case.
