The University of Macau (UM) said in a statement yesterday that its students recently won six prizes in the “‘Challenge Cup’ national inter-varsity competition for extracurricular academic technological projects”.

According to the statement, the prizes comprise one first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes, with the first prize awarded to a team formed by UM students from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST).

The team’s winning project was “intelligent inspection and maintenance robots for corridor tunnels based on low-light enhancement algorithms”.
