A coach carrying 44 tourists from the mainland yesterday crashed into a Chinese chiropractor’s clinic in Rua da Entena near Kiang Wu Hospital, injuring 32 of them, including a 46-year-old woman who sustained life-threatening injuries and was still being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital at the time of going to press.
Among the injured, two other women, aged 42 and 63 respectively, were in serious condition and were also being treated in the ICU of the private hospital while six other tourists on the coach were required to stay in hospital overnight.
The remainder left hospital after out-patient treatment, according to a government statement late last night.
