The first two shows of the “Light up Macao Drone Gala 2022” are slated for tonight with the theme “Spring Rejoice”, starting at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. above Nam Van Lake, according to a statement yesterday from the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

The shows were originally slated for Sunday and Monday, but were postponed owing to weather constraints.

The statement added that the first show will revolve around Macau, with the designs and productions encompassing elements such as “World Heritage sites and iconic landmarks”.  Other themes to follow are “Fun-Tastic Summer”, “Golden Fall Delights” and “A Merry Winter”, with six of the shows presented by partner entities.

The first show tonight will be presented by MGTO, while the second show will be presented by Melco Group. Both groups will present a variety of patterns under the theme.

The other shows, the statement said, are set for tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., Saturday at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, Buddha’s Birthday and Mother’s Day, at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Details on the fringe activities, the statement noted, can be viewed at  https://www.macaotourism.gov.mo/en/ . An online prize-giving game can also be played at https://drone-games.ad-on.mo/temp.html for prizes and offers.

The statement pointed out that spectators must wear a facemask, undergo temperature checks, present a valid green Macau Health Code and scan the venue QR code upon being admitted to the designated audience areas, and maintain social distancing.

Moreover, the statement added that staff and spectators must fulfil the Health Bureau’s (SSM) requirements in “Prevention of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia – Advice on the Management of Collective Festive Events, and Recreational and Sports Activities”.

The statement also reminded the public that that vehicle access limitations will be enforced in Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Nam Van (lanes by the lakeside), with adjustments made according to actual situations, during rehearsals and show days, while pedestrians are restricted from using the Governador Nobre de Carvalho Bridge on show days.

The statement noted the drone gala is organised by MGTO in conjunction with the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), Sports Bureau (ID), Transport Bureau (DSAT) and Civil Aviation Authority (AACM), as well as the six partner entities: Melco Resorts & Entertainment, Wynn, Sands China Ltd., Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), SJM Resorts, and MGM. TDM and Macau Cable TV are also supporting entities for the event.
