A Vietnamese woman picked up a parcel purporting to contain 12 cup noodles that also included the drug ice, ketamine and ecstasy, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special press conference on Sunday.

According to Lei, the cup noodles contained 49 grammes of ice, 48.3 grammes of ketamine and 57 blue pills suspected to be ecstasy. Lei said that the 31-year-old Vietnamese suspect, surnamed Nguyen, was arrested at her flat in the central district after she picked up a suspicious parcel from a pick-up spot. After questioning, Lei added, the suspect claimed that she was a masseuse and that she picked up the parcel for somebody else, but refused to disclose any further details. Lai noted that the market price of the drugs is 215,000 patacas.

Lei said that the Judiciary Police discovered recently that illegal substances were being posted to Macau, so they started to cooperate with the Macau Customs Service to investigate together.

Lei said that the suspect has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) on drug trafficking charges.
