Imported workers accounted for 28 percent of Macau’s population at the end of June, according to demographic figures released by the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) this week.
The city’s total population of 652,500 included 182,459 non-resident workers at the end of the second quarter.
Mainlanders accounted for 65 percent of imported labour. Other major segments came from the Philippines (25,082) and Vietnam (14,609), according to figures released by the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) earlier.
