Sands Resorts Macao said in a statement this week that teamLab SuperNature Macao at The Venetian Macao has won the Gold Stevie Award for Innovation in Media, Visual Communications & Entertainment at the 9th Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.

An online awards ceremony will be held on June 29, the statement noted.

The permanent exhibition is located at the Venetian’s Cotai Expo that is an “immersive interactive experience” that features “cutting-edge art installations by art collective teamLab in a massive, three-dimensional space”, the statement underlined.

According to the statement, the exhibition offers an “avant-garde concept that transcends the boundaries between the physical body and the artworks”. The works’ nature can be changed in real time by the visitors, which directly affects artwork spaces through interaction.

The statement pointed out that one of the exhibition’s key characteristics is that the artworks are created by a computer programme that “continuously renders them based on human involvement”, adding that previous visual states can never be repeated or replicated.

Sands China Senior Vice President of Resort Operations Sean McCreery was quoted in the statement as saying that “teamLab SuperNature Macau represents an innovative integration of art and technology, offering visitors to The Venetian Macao a multisensory journey like no other”.

Moreover, the statement also quoted McCreery as saying that “being recognised with a prestigious gold, [the] Stevie award is truly gratifying and encourages us to continue pushing the boundaries in entertainment and recreation with ever more creative products.”

The statement noted that the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards are the only business awards programme to “recognise workplace innovation in all 29 Asia-Pacific nations”, with over 900 nominations from organisations across the region considered in a variety of categories.

The statement said that the average scores of over 100 executives globally acting as judges determined the gold, silver and bronze Stevie award winners.
