Melco Resorts & Entertainment achieved a 99.5 percent completion rate in the “Hotel and Catering Safety Card Training Programme”, organised by the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL), which aims to strengthen employees’ safety awareness across the industry, according to a statement by Melco yesterday.
The statement pointed out that in order to enhance employees’ knowledge and awareness of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), a seminar, titled “Health and Safety You Should Know” on the topics of healthy eating and prevention of work-related injuries was hosted by Melco last month. The statement added that activities such as Smoke- free and Health Life Game Booths and Consultation, OSH Online Safety Quiz, game booths and workshops, as well as the Melco OSH Safety Quiz Competition and Ceremony, will be launched this year.
Melco CEO David Sisk said in the statement that in order to reinforce the importance of OSH to his colleagues and the community, the company will host more dedicated initiatives in the following months, adding that Melco’s OSH policy was established in 2008.
The statement pointed out that the resort has promoted OSH through 300 internal training sessions and activities for over 12,000 of Melco’s employees last year. The statement added that the company will continue to maintain a safe environment for its staff and guests.
