GLP’s Mesa to launch event to celebrate Day of Portugal

Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (GLP) said in a statement this week that there will be a “special celebration for the Day of Portugal” on June 12 at the resort’s Portuguese restaurant, Mesa, which is located in the THE KARL LAGERFELD hotel tower.

According to the statement, the event is part of “June – Month of Portugal in Macau SAR” celebrations and is organised by the Consulate General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong, AICEP Portugal Group, Casa de Portugal Macau, Orient Foundation and Portuguese Institute of the Orient (“IPOR”).

On the day of the event, Mesa will offer guests a “Portuguese experience”, ranging from a live band and regional gastronomy to beverages such as “ginjinha in a chocolate cup”, the statement noted.  The dishes include Rojões à Minhota – pork collar confit in pork fat with cumin, and Carapaus Alimados – mackerel cured with lemon and olive oil, among others.

The statement added that a retail area will be set up for purchasing different types of wines and souvenirs, while the event is slated to take place between12 p.m. and 10 p.m. The last day of purchasing early bird tickets is today.

The prices for seating are 688 patacas per adult, which includes 14 vouchers (worth 50 patacas each), and 288 patacas for children aged below 12 with six vouchers. For standing, the tickets are priced at 388 patacas per adult with eight vouchers and 188 per child aged below 12 and includes four vouchers. The statement noted that add-on voucher packages are available upon request.
