The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement yesterday that the ecological pond in the northern section of Avenida da Praia in Taipa will be open to the public for the “22nd Macao Lotus Flower Festival”.
In order to improve the festival’s atmosphere, according to the statement, the bureau has installed a “misting system” in the area of the pond “to enhance the beauty of the lotus flowers with mist and bring some coolness” to the city over the hot summer.
Moreover, the pond’s opening allows the public to “appreciate the beauty of lotus flowers from a short distance”, the statement said.
The statement noted that the pond is open from June 10 to 19 when the Lotus Flower Festival activities are held, and on every Saturday and Sunday until September 12. It is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
