According to a statement by Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited (Melco) on Wednesday, 90 volunteers from the casino-hotel resort operator and the Women’s General Association of Macau (commonly known as Fu Luen, its name in Cantonese) gathered at City of Dreams (COD) in Cotai last week to make traditional rice dumplings with Melco’s Jin Ying Restaurant chefs to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival with local seniors.

The statement noted that a total of 350 rice dumplings were delivered to local elderly residents at Fu Luen’s Family Service Centre “Happiness in Harmony” (婦聯樂融家庭綜合服務中心). The statement added that volunteers also visited and presented rice dumplings to elderly households, such as senior residents living in the central district, who are living alone or are affected by reduced mobility.

The statement said that the event formed part of Melco’s Simple Acts of Kindness 2.0 initiative which encouraged the company’s staff members to bring warmth and care to the community through volunteerism.
