The Macau Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) said in a statement on Saturday that five students gained professional certification in the IT industry called ACA Cloud Computing (Alibaba Cloud Certification Associate).
The students were able to gain the certification through the Alibaba Cloud Academic Empowerment Programme (AAEP) partnership between IFTM and Alibaba Cloud, which was launched in November last year, the statement noted.
According to the statement, the project was facilitated by the tertiary education institution’s IT lecturer and Alibaba Cloud Certified Professional Trainer Joe Lam. The statement added that IFTM aims to raise the expertise of modern computing technology acquired by its students through this initiative.
Moreover, the statement added that Alibaba Cloud Academy provides “state-of-the-art cloud computing resources” for students registered in the AAEP such as a live cloud computing server and a set of “advanced technology courseware” in topics like big data and machine learning. A free exam voucher of ACA Cloud Computing is also offered to all registered students.
The statement pointed out that the first batch of the successful students will continue their “technology journey”, with their achievement also encouraging fellow students to “harness information technology in their respective professional fields”.
