A Public Security Police (PSP) officer told The Macau Post Daily by phone yesterday that a 38-year-old non-resident worker (NRW) had died from a serious injury after falling down.
The PSP officer said that the 38-year-old is a male holding a blue card.
The PSP officers said that the police were informed at 5:03 p.m. yesterday that a worker had fainted and fallen in Avenida do Aeroporto near Grand Lisboa Palace in Cotai. The man was injured, but was conscious when they received the report, so an ambulance was sent to the scene, the PSP officer said.
The PSP officer said that the man died in hospital at 7:36 p.m. yesterday. The officer added that the case has been transferred to the Judiciary Police (PJ) for follow-up investigation.
According to a statement by the Fire Services Bureau (CB), the victim is a Philippine national who worked as a gardener for a subcontractor. The statement said that the man was taken to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre, where he died after treatment failed to save his life.
The statement noted that the worker’s lower jaw was injured when he fell.
Neither statement said how and why the victim fell.
