The tally of Macau's current COVID-19 outbreak reached 357 this morning, up by 58 from the 299 cases announced yesterday afternoon, according to a statement by the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre
The first case of the current outbreak was detected on June 18. The government implemented a "state of immediate prevention" on the following day.
The outbreak's third round of mandatory mass nucleic acid testing (NAT) began at 9 a.m. today. It is slated to end at 6 p.m. tomorrow. The tests are free of charge. Residents are also required to self-test for COVID-19. The kits are being provided by the government free of charge.
Government offices, except for those providing "urgent and indispensable" services, and banks remain closed for another week.
Restaurants are barred from providing dine-in services but are allowed to sell take-aways. With the exception of casinos, all entertainment and recreation venues are closed by government order until further notice.
According to Health Bureau data, Macau's tally of confirmed and asymptomatic COVID-19 cases stood at 150 and 401 this morning, respectively. No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Macau.
