A 72-year-old woman was found dead in her flat at Seac Pai Van estate in Coloane on Sunday night, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement on Sunday night.
The local woman was surnamed Ferreira.
The statement said that earlier that day a food delivery driver who regularly delivered food to the elderly woman did not receive any response from the flat when trying to give the food to her. Worrying about her, the food deliverer reported the incident to the Public Security Police (PSP), with Fire Services Bureau (CB) officers arriving at the scene later breaking into the house.
The statement said that the officers found the woman lying on the floor between her bedroom and living room, confirming her death at the scene. A preliminary medical examination found no suspicious injuries on her, the statement said.
