Two people were caught on video entering the Tennis Academy of the Sports Bureau on Friday evening to play tennis, and upon enquiring about the situation, some security guards admitted to their unauthorised use of the tennis facilities, the Sports Bureau (ID) said in a statement on Saturday.
The Tennis Academy of the Sports Bureau is in the vicinity of the Macau East Asian Games Dome in Cotai.
All public sports facilities have been temporarily closed since June 19 in line with the government’s pandemic prevention and control work, with the statement pointing out that the bureau “strongly condemns the inappropriate action” of the security guards and has reported the incident to the police for possible follow-up action.
Members of the public were urged by the bureau in the statement to “make concerted efforts to fight the pandemic at this time.”
