Hair salons will be allowed to operate on a limited basis from tomorrow during the city’s provisionally weeklong “consolidation period” as long as they abide by the government’s COVID-19 prevention and control measures by controlling the flow of people through appointments or other measures and arranging for consumers to sit in alternate seats while strengthening the disinfection and cleaning of towels, as well as their hair styling items, such as hair cutting tools, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) announced in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, all customers entering hair salons are required to present a valid green Macau Health Code of the day, scan the premises’ venue QR code for itinerary records and wear KN95 facemasks or those of a higher standard.
The statement underlined that hair salons with administrative permits for beauty parlours can only carry out hair-dressing business during the consolidation period which starts tomorrow and provisionally ends next Friday.
Moreover, the bureau reminded food and beverage outlets that dine-in service will still be suspended from Saturday through next Friday, adding that only takeaway services are allowed.
The bureau said in the statement that IAM staff will be sent to inspect the various businesses licensed and supervised by it.
During the “consolidation period”, cinemas, beauty parlours, nightclubs, amusement arcades, cyber cafés and other entertainment businesses will remain closed, according to the statement.
