Police nab cabbie for attacking passenger

The Judiciary Police (PJ) announced yesterday the arrest of a taxi driver on suspicion of attacking a passenger from the mainland following a row over the fare.

Addressing a regular press conference, PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam identified the suspect as a 40-year-old man surnamed Cheng.

Ho said at a press conference on August 12 that the Judiciary Police had arrested a taxi driver earlier that day, surnamed Tang, who allegedly told Cheng to attack the passenger who disagreed to pay the exorbitant fare that Tang had demanded during the trip.
