The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) announced in a statement on Friday that more gardens, parks, leisure areas and the hiking trails in Taipa and Coloane were reopened to the public during the three-day extended “consolidation period”, which began on Saturday.
The reopening, the statement noted, provides members of the public with more leisure venues, taking a walk and “relaxation of the body and mind”. Children’s playgrounds, fitness equipment, pavilions, among other facilities, remain closed to avoid crowding.
According to the statement, gardens, parks, leisure areas, dog parks, cycle tracks, hiking trails and other leisure spaces will retain the same opening hours prior to the recent COVID-19 outbreak. The statement added that the bureau’s free sports grounds are still temporarily closed.
Members of the public visiting the areas must follow the government’s pandemic prevention guidelines, wear up-to-standard facemasks properly, maintain social distancing and “refrain from strenuous exercise such as running and cycling”, the statement pointed out.
Moreover, those entering the areas, the statement said, must undergo a temperature check and scan the venue QR code and present a valid green Macau Health Code. Members of the public were also urged to cooperate with the government’s pandemic prevention and control measures and pay attention to personal and environmental hygiene.
The bureau will reopen all green, leisure and recreational facilities when conditions allow, the statement underlined.
