The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement yesterday that it is calling for submissions of 3D mapping projects for the “Bright up Macao 2022” in December.
The event, which the statement pointed out is rebranded from the Macao Light Festival, is slated to have 3D mapping shows, light installations and interactive games, among others, in different districts.
The statement noted that the call for submissions is hoped to bring more attention to local artworks and promote the development of “tourism + culture and creativity”. Moreover, the most “extraordinary mapping project” will be chosen by a judging panel to stage their show during the event.
The judging panel, according to the statement, will comprise MGTO invited artistic and tourism professionals who will nominate five outstanding entries for “cloud” showcases on MGTO’s website. Moreover, the “most stunning artwork” will be chosen by the judging panel among the five nominated entries for a projection show on the China Products Company’s façade in Rua de Cinco de Outubro during Bright up Macao 2022. The mapping shows can also be viewed online, the statement noted.
Submissions can be made from today until August 31. Those interested can apply and submit their entries online, the statement said. Further details can be found at https://industry.macaotourism.gov.mo/en/index.php.The results will be announced on MGTO’s website.
