The Macau Government Tourism Office urged businesses under its supervision to strictly follow the Health Bureau’s (SSM) COVID-19 guidelines, adding that patrols during Macau’s stabilisation period will be strengthened.

The statement noted that Executive Order No. 139/2022 has lifted the previous ban on the operation of leisure facilities and dine-in services at restaurants, which resumed yesterday.

According to the statement, MGTO has issued letters to businesses under its supervision, requiring them to “rigorously comply with the latest executive order” and the Health Bureau’s pandemic guidelines which, among others, include measures on staff management and the requirement for people to scan venue QR codes.

Moreover, the statement pointed out that MGTO-licensed establishments such as restaurants, saunas, massage parlours, karaoke lounges, bars and nightclubs must request customers or service users to provide proof of their negative nucleic acid test (NAT) result from a sample collected within three days (on the day of receiving service or within the past two days).

Staff have also been sent to inspect various businesses, while MGTO urged them to follow the government’s COVID-19 control and prevention measures and called for their cooperation in ensuring the implementation of the measures.

Grand Prix Museum reopens today

Meanwhile, in a separate statement yesterday, MGTO said that the Macau Grand Prix Museum and the café next to it will reopen today with controlled visitor flow during the government’s anti-COVID-19 stabilisation period through Sunday.

The museum’s visitor capacity, the statement underlined, is reduced to 550 visitors per day, or 25 percent of the normal visitor capacity, and only up to 142 visitors can be accommodated per time interval. Free guided tour services are suspended and group visit applications will not be accepted. Staff will also manage visitor flow upon entry, the statement added.

MGTO urged members of the public to buy their admission tickets online in advance at https://eticket.macaotourism.gov.mo/en/.

Moreover, play time limits, crowd control and social distancing in queues are strictly adopted for the museum’s interactive games, while only five visitors can queue simultaneously per game, the statement said. The Screening Room is also temporarily closed.

The statement added that cleaning of the museum facilities will be reinforced and anti-pandemic measures will be strictly followed, including requiring all visitors aged three and up to wear a facemask, undergo a temperature check, scan the venue QR code and present a valid green Macau Health Code.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Tuesdays. More details can be found at mgpm.macaotourism.gov.mo/en.
