MGM said in a recent statement that MGM COTAI’s Emerald Villa won the 5-star accolade in the Best Hotel Interior Macau – Asia Pacific 2022 category at the International Property Awards, the highest level of honour.
The statement noted that the event is among the global property industry’s most important. The award is the third international interior design prize recognising the villa less than a year after its launch, having previously won the SBID International Design Awards 2021 in the Hotel Bedroom & Suites Design category and 2021 MUSE Design Awards in the Interior Design (Hotels & Resorts) category’s Platinum Winner.
The statement underlined that the Emerald Villa was designed by Westar Architects International Limited and is the newest addition to MGM’s accommodation portfolio, with each of the 28 villas filled with art pieces and cultural elements in an experience “where modern aesthetics meets traditional Chinese heritage”.
Aesthetics and functionality, the statement said, are the core of its design, having various unique features such as a “custom-made rotatable sand art piece resembling Chinese landscape paintings”.
MGM President, Chief Strategic & Financial Officer Kenneth Feng Xiaofeng was quoted in the statement as saying: “This award further strengthens MGM’s credibility to offer its guests a world-class luxurious accommodation portfolio with masterly craftsmanship as well as its capability to lure clientele from all over the world. While the design of the Emerald Villa is totally customer-centric, a lot of green concepts have been incorporated which led us to this prestigious global recognition”.
