The Macau Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) said in a statement yesterday that some members of the public have received SMS messages in the bureau’s name, asking recipients to click on an embedded link to pay an additional fee for their parcels and provide personal information.

The bureau was adamant that it did not send the messages and reminded the public to stay vigilant. The statement urged people not to click on embedded links or provide personal information.

The statement noted that those suspecting that they had fallen victim to a scam can call the Judiciary Police’s anti-fraud hotline 8800 7777 or crime report hotline 993 for assistance.
