Melco Resorts & Entertainment has generated nearly 4.4 million patacas in revenue for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through its Heart of House roadshow series in the first half of this year, benefitting more than 100 local SMEs and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) through over 90 sessions, the resort operator said in a statement yesterday.

According to the statement, the roadshows enabled SMEs to promote their business by selling their products to 16,000 staff members working at Melco properties, including City of Dreams, Studio City and Altira Macau. The roadshows generated over 1.2 million patacas in additional revenue for the SMEs which offered a variety of products such as foodstuff, beverages, personal and skin care products, clothing and accessories, as well as baby products and electronics during the Easter, Golden Week and the Dragon Boat Festival sales hosted between April and June.

Thanking Melco for the opportunity, the statement quoted SME participant and Francine Chicard (Macau) F&F Co. Ltd. Executive Director Anna Sit (薛寶儀) as saying: “It [the roadshow] provides a great marketing opportunity, both enabling more Macau residents to learn about our local branded products and to help generate press. It’s great that it allows more people to know about and support Made-in-Macau brands.”

Fellow participant and Smartfit Education Co. Ltd. Sales Director Moon Tang (鄧皓月) was quoted as saying that the roadshows have been “a great opportunity to showcase our casual and sportswear brands to Melco employees at special discounted rates as we promote the benefits of active lifestyles”.

The resort operator underlined that it will continue to support local SMEs through “a variety of sustainable development opportunities”.
