The Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said in a statement on Friday that 292 enterprises have applied to exhibit at the 27th Macau International Trade and Investment Fair’s (27th MIF) “Macao SME Pavilion”, an oversubscription nearly double the number of booths available.
SME is the short for small- and medium-sized enterprises.
The pavilion’s number of booths has been increased from 80 to 160, the statement noted. The exhibition expanded the number for SMEs and reduced exhibitors’ participation fees, among other things, to implement “industry + MICE” cross-sectorial collaboration and facilitate industry recovery, the statement underlined.
Moreover, according to the statement, two workshops on “Macao SMEs Upgrading and Transformation” are held before the exhibition both online and offline, one of which took place recently. With the theme “live-streaming e-commerce”, industry experts are invited to share the latest information on factors such as industry development trends.
The statement pointed out that the workshops aim to prepare local SMEs before the actual event to enable them to use online exhibition tools and live streaming to expand their product promotion and sales channels, among others.
The first workshop was hosted on August 18, which gathered 141 local SME representatives online and offline, the statement said. The second workshop is slated for September 1 at the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex. Applications can be submitted at www.mif.com.mo.
Meanwhile, the statement pointed out that SMEs will be assisted in obtaining business opportunities through ways such as improving pre-event communication and matching services, and setting up the so-called SME Consultation Zone to offer SMEs advice from experts and representatives in different fields.
The exhibition is set to take place on October 20-22 at The Venetian’s Cotai Expo.
