A statement by the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) yesterday said that in order to help young job-seekers join the local labour market as soon as possible, this year’s “Youth Career Expo” themed “Youth Employment starts Now” will be held in the form of a large-scale job fair, while its online job search platform has started to accept applications through September 23.

The expo, which will take place on October 8-9 at The Venetian’s Cotai Expo, is jointly hosted by the bureau, the Macao New Chinese Youth Association and the General Association of Chinese Students of Macao, the statement noted.

According to the statement, about 60 companies will take part in recruitment activities covering a wide range of industries and sectors such as tourism and leisure, retail, finance, technology, catering, and construction engineering. The statement noted that nearly 1,000 vacancies, such as luxury goods salespeople, data analysts, systems engineers and corporate planners, in around 70 occupations “suitable” for youth career development are available.

The statement underlined that young people looking for a job can apply for positions online in advance by logging onto the job search platform: https://www3.dsal.gov.mo/jobseeking/ye_select.jsp. The statement added that a text message will be sent to the applicants to attend an interview at a specified time.

During the two-day exhibition, seminars with topics such as the prospects of emerging industries and the latest policies of employment and life in the Hengqin-Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone will be held, so as to expand young people’s career vision and career development space, the statement said.

The statement pointed out that participants in the expo will be provided with career planning consultations and curriculum vitae (CV) writing guidelines.

Further information can be obtained on the expo’s website: youthcareerexpo.org.mo or by calling 2835 8963 during office hours.
